Sage has antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-obesity properties. It has been used for digestive problems including loss of appetite, gas, stomach pain, diarrhea, bloating, & heartburn. It is also used for reducing overproduction of perspiration & saliva; for depression, memory loss, and Alzheimer’s disease. Sage gained popularity in women,  and is said to have been used for painful menstrual periods, to correct excessive milk flow during nursing, and to reduce hot flashes during menopause.
